Meal Behind the Wheel: Air-Fried Pork Chops

Are you ready to elevate your culinary game with a simple yet mouthwatering recipe? This month's "Meal Behind the Wheel," features juicy air-fried pork chops.

Ingredients

  • 2 center-cut, bone-in pork chops, 1½ - 2 inches thick
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1½ teaspoons salt
  • 1½ teaspoons fresh group black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1-2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer: Begin by preheating your air fryer to 400°F for 5 minutes. This ensures that your pork chops will cook evenly and achieve that perfect crispy exterior.
  2. Prepare the Pork Chops: Rinse the pork chops with cool water and pat them dry completely with a paper towel. This step is crucial for achieving a good sear.
  3. Mix the Rub: In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, salt, black pepper, ground mustard, onion powder, and garlic powder. This blend of spices will add a delightful depth of flavor to your pork chops.
  4. Coat the Pork Chops: Rub the pork chops with olive oil, then generously apply the spice mix. Make sure to rub it in well, covering every inch of the meat. Use almost all of the rub mix for maximum flavor.
  5. Cook the Pork Chops: Place the pork chops in the air fryer and cook on the air fry setting at 400°F for 12-14 minutes. Flip the pork chops over after 6 minutes to ensure even cooking. The pork chops are done when they reach an internal temperature of 140°F.
